UPDATE: Starting from Monday the 21st of November, the Azimut Café will be open from 8am to 9.30pm, with happy hour and pre-dinner drinks available from 5pm-9.30pm! Last Saturday the 6th of August was a beautiful sunny day in the Casa de Campo Resort La Romana and following a day enjoying Casa de Campo’s golf courses, sunbathing and relaxing, Casa de Campo villa owners, residents, visitors and yachts crew finished the day in style at the Inauguration event for the new ‘Azimut Café’ in the Marina Casa de Campo, an event hosted by Mauro Caslini of IBI Yachts.  Located at the beginning of the Paseo del Mar in the Marina Casa de Campo, the Azimut Café is just a short walk away from the main restaurant area, the Plaza Portofino and has the most beautiful views of the Marina from it’s outside deck and sitting area. Following the inauguration the Azimut Café will now be open Mondays to Saturdays from 8am to 7pm, serving Nespresso coffees and soft drinks – making it a relaxing spot to enjoy a coffee or light drink in the Marina Casa de Campo.

The event began at 6pm, the perfect time to get to know the Azimut Café, not only the first of it’s kind in the Dominican Republic, but also the first ‘Azimut Café’ in the world. By 7pm, more than 200 people were to be found enjoying the atmosphere both inside the newly renovated café, outside on the deck as well as spilling out into the surrounding area where a modest car and boat show was on display boasting a luxurious Jaguar and a fine selection of Azimut Yachts.

As the event progressed, Mr Mauro Caslini, the event’s host and president of IBI Yachts addressed his guests with a short welcome speech and presented a virtual greeting from the President Azimut Yachts’, Paolo Vitelli, who although unable to attend the event in person, remarked on the importance of the initiative, which is the first of it’s kind in the world. After that, the many Casa de Campo guests continued to enjoy champagne and cocktails with a fine selection of picadera, before the crowd dispersed and went to dine in the Marina Casa de Campo’s many restaurants, such as the newly opened Mistral, Chinois, La Casita or maybe even continued the celebration in the Marina Casa de Campo’s very own wine bar La Enoteca.

It was a fantastic event and we wish the Azimut Café all the best in the future – we are looking forward to enjoying a cappuccino on your deck!
