The ‘Dia Internacional de la Raza,’ known as ‘Columbus Day’ in the United States is celebrated every year by many countries on October the 12th, which commemorates the day Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas on October 12, 1942.
The Museo Arqueológico in Altos de Chavón, Casa de Campo will be celebrating this day on WEDNESDAY the 13th of October with a series of special activities, such as dramatic reconstructions of Columbus’ arrival and everyone is invited to take part in the celebration!
The special celebration is being planned jointly by the Museo Arqueológico and the Colegio Biblio Cristiano, as well as the Escuela Básica Mercedes Laura Aquiar. Groups of children from these schools will be performing sketches representing the culture of different European Countries, including the costumes, folklore and traditions of the country.
The celebration is set to start at 9am on Wednesday the 13th of October at the Museo Arqueológico in Altos de Chavón, Casa de Campo – everyone/anyone is welcome to stop by and join in!
