On Saturday the 8th of October, as representatives of Casa de Campo Living, Philip and I (Rebecca Hughes) were invited to play in the 1st “La Romana Open” golf tournament and despite some severe reservations about the rain and our lack of golfing skill – we ended up having a great time and the tournament was a success!
The “La Romana Open” golf tournament was a charity tournament played at the La Estancia golf resort to raise money for the ‘Camara de Comercio y Producción de La Romana’ (La Romana’s Chamber of Commerce), an institution which has existed in La Romana since 1929, whose aim is to promote and protect business in the greater La Romana area.
The day started with some torrential rain, which delayed play for about an hour, but thankfully the rain stopped by 9.30am, so we got started just an hour late, which meant that we were finished by 3pm – after which we enjoyed a few beers, the prize-giving and a fantastic lunch.
Here are a few golfing photos:

Congratulations to the La Estancia resort for another successful tournament and to the ‘Camara de Comercio y Producción de La Romana’ for organizing the first of what we hope will me many more “La Romana Open” golf tournaments.
