Mother’s Day was officially celebrated yesterday in the Dominican Republic. Although the celebration of mothers should not be confined to a single day, every year it holds a special significance for Dominicans as they acknowledge the efforts and sacrifices mothers make for their children.
The Casa de Campo community is home to many spectacular mothers who are hardworking and dedicated to their children. In recent years, after the COVID-19 pandemic, a new generation of families has emerged in Casa de Campo, choosing this idyllic destination to raise their children and live fulfilling lives.
One such family is the Huertas-Sánchez family, who arrived in the community in May 2020 with their children and decided to stay permanently after experiencing the joy and relaxation of their days together. Bienchy Sánchez, along with her husband and their two children, Amanda (5 years old) and Roberto (8 years old), have been visiting the community since their early years. Their favorite activities include going to the beach, taking golf cart rides, and reading bedtime stories.
As an entrepreneurial mother, Bienchy Sánchez is the director of WAO Lab by Kids Create, an educational program at the Altos de Chavón Archaeological Museum. She explains that her most challenging task as a mother is dividing her time between her children, being a wife, a friend, and a professional. “I hope to be the mother they can trust to tell me their concerns. I hope they feel free to tell me the good and the bad. I hope to be a fun and adventurous mother,” says Sánchez.
A rewarding experience

Cindy Ramos, another young mother from the Casa de Campo community, also has two children: Oliver (4 years old) and Theodore (1 year and 8 months old). Ramos has been part of the Casa de Campo community for many years and has witnessed its growth and prosperity. Her children were even born here. She describes motherhood as a challenging yet rewarding experience filled with learning and challenges.
Ramos enjoys going for walks with her family as their favorite activity. In Casa de Campo, her children’s favorite place is Onnos Bar, where they love the pizzas and pastas. “They always ask me for it,” she assures. Balancing her responsibilities poses the greatest challenge for Ramos as a mother. She works as a manager at La Romana Airport and is an entrepreneur as an accessory creator.
“As a mother, I aspire to be a positive role model, a constant cheerleader for every milestone my children achieve, to demonstrate the boundless love that knows no end, and to cherish the truly priceless memories,” Ramos says.
Both Bienchy Sánchez and Cindy Ramos spent yesterday celebrating with their families. Sánchez took her children to Minitas Beach, their favorite spot, while Ramos enjoyed a delicious BBQ her husband prepared at home.
