valentines day abraham lincoln school Last Friday the 12th of February, 2 days before the real Valentine’s day, the pupils of the Abraham Lincoln School celebrated Valentine’s Day with the banging of drums and the exchanging of gifts…. Every year the 12th grade pupils of the Abraham Lincoln School sell gifts and ‘valograms’ (serenades) for Valentine’s Day – they spend weeks and weeks organising and planning for this event and although it turns the school day into a bit of a nightmare for the teachers, it’s great real-life work experience for them. This year the pupils sold everything from roses and candies to teddy bears and brownies and they made a fantastic profit – which will be donated to help Haiti. Well done 12th grade! Here are photos of a few of the 12th grade pupils preparing the gifts for delivery the night before at Mrs Santana’s house – they were working until 5am they tell me! Although of course it was a little stressful delivering all the gifts as promised, the 12th grade did a fantastic job and the rest of the school were very happy with all their presents!
