What started just two weeks ago, the Summer Golf League is going strong and there’s still opportunities to sign up. Composed of 10 tournaments in all, the inaugural having played on May 28th, the Summer Golf League is open to residents, villa owners, and Casa de Campo community members. It continues now through September 3rd with golf tournaments almost every Saturday of the month.

Becoming a member of the league allows you the use of the practice facility once a week, ability to compete in the almost-weekly competitive amateur tournaments, and receive souvenirs and prizes! Each tournament will be played individually with different formats on the Dye Fore.

With 9 more golf tournaments to go, the next one being on June 11th, we encourage you to grab your clubs and sign up to enjoy golf throughout the summer. Pay a membership fee and low price per tournament at the Pro Shop to participate. See the details below.

Body Image Summer Golf League 2016

Regular Membership: $200 USD

Villa Owners Membership: $100 USD

Membership gives you the privilege of:

  • Use of Casa de Campo “Practice Facility” once per week (noncumulative)
  • Competing in the Summer Series
  • Souvenirs
  • Raffle
  • Tournament Awards

The cost per tournament for members and villa owners are:

Dye Fore: $60 usd (+ 18% tax)

To register for the tournaments or for further information, call 809-523-8115 or email [email protected]. Registration closes for each tournament at 3:00 pm on Fridays, and playgroups will be sent via e-mail that Friday by 5:00 pm. Players must be certified and updated handicap.

Formats and Rules:

Individual stroke format

There will be four categories in tournaments with single stroke format. In each category there be Gross and net prizes depending on the number of players in each category using the 25% formula.

  • Category A = 0-8.7 index ( blue tees) no matter how old the player
  • Category B = 8.8-18.0 index (white tees)
  • Category C = 18.1 index and more ( white tees)
  • Ladies (red tees)

Stableford Format

The categories will b

In each category there will be Gross and Net prizes depending on the number of players in each category using the 25% formula.

Scramble in couples

  • 50 % of the lower handicap + 10% of the higher handicap will be used.
  • Each player will leave the tees corresponding to their respective indexes.
  • At the tournament there will be only one general category with Gross and Net prizes

Best Ball Gross and Net couple

Each player will play from the tees that correspond to them depending on their index. The best Ball gross for best hole gross score is counted and the best net ball net score to be counted. There may be no more than 8 strokes diffrence between peers. 85% of each player’s handicap will be used.

  • At the tournament there will be only one general category with Gross and Net prizes

Special awards:

  • Closest to the Pin: All participants in the different categories will play their respective Tees and all will compete for the same prize.
  • Most precise Drive: All participants in the different categories will play their respective Tees and all will compete for the same prize.
