Award-winning actor Anthony Anderson, from the popular ABC show “black-ish”, hosted the 4th Annual Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic to benefit his and his wife Alvina’s Family Foundation, which donates to a variety of charitable organizations. The event was held on Nov. 7 at The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe. The actor most certainly deserves accolades for his on-screen work – but also for the work he does on course. As a Compton native and a community stalwart, Anderson uses his tournament to help fundraise for a number of charities focused on his childhood stomping grounds. “The primary mission for the Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic is to benefit non-profit organizations that support children, young adults, and adults in areas of health, wellness, faith, and mentorship,” Anderson said in a statement. “After many years of playing in other classics and supporting charitable causes around the world, the time has come for me to finally host my own. I have hopes that this tournament will become a prestigious two-day event of great golf, great fun, laughter, and most importantly, charitable giving to causes near and dear to my heart.” The star-studded event saw a big contingency of athletes and celebrities showing their support all of which were gifted stays at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
