The Hogar del Niño polo tournament, one of the many fundraising activities of the Hogar del Niño weekend (click here for an overview of this event) began on Wednesday the 8th of February and ended on Friday the 17th of February with the finals – an exciting game which Casa de Campo’s villa owners and supporters of the cause enjoyed at sunset with a few glasses of champagne – the perfect start to the weekend!
During the 1st annual “Semana de Francia” celebrated in Casa de Campo from March 22nd through to March 25th 2012, the 1st “Claude Terrail” Polo Tournament was played between the Casa de Campo polo team and the guest polo team from the “Domaine du Barbossi” in France.
On Saturday the 7th of April 2012, otherwise know as “Sábado Santo” a day when celebrations in the Dominican Republic rival those of New Year’s Eve, one of the many parties Casa de Campo villa owners and visitors were treated to was that of the “Semana Santa Polo Tournament”, celebrated in spectacular style at the Casa de Campo polo fields.
The 2012 edition of the ”Masters Cup” polo tournament in Casa de Campo was battled out between 2 teams on Sunday the 29th and Monday the 30th of April, when the players, all aged 50 or more, proved themselves to still have what it takes to command the power of a polo pony and thunder up, down and around the polo field in pursuit of a ball – not a feat to be taken lightly!
