casadecampo_open_minitas_beach On Wednesday the 15th of September the Casa de Campo Open golf tournament was officially opened during a welcome cocktail and dinner held at Casa de Campo’s Playa Minitas. This year, over 100 golfers from Casa de Campo as well as overseas are taking part in the Casa de Campo Open golf tournament, a 5-day event, which began on Wednesday and will finish tomorrow (Sunday the 19th of September.)  On Wednesday the golfers played a ‘practice game,’ following which they celebrated the beginning of the tournament at the ’19th hole’ bar. The welcome cocktail began at 7pm at Casa de Campo’s beautiful Minitas beach, the banquet tables and bars had been set up on the actual beach itself, creating a beautiful ambience – not much can rival dinner and drinks on the beach under the stars! Dinner was served buffet-style to the hungry golfers as Giles Gagnon, Casa de Campo’s Director of Golf welcomed the players and familiarised them with the rules and format of the tournament. The tournament is being played on Casa de Campo’s beautiful Pete Dye designed courses; the Teeth of the Dog, the Links and Dye Fore. Today, Saturday the 18th of September the last round of the tournament is being played and all the players will enjoy a dinner and prize-giving event this evening. Tomorrow, Sunday the 19th of September as part of the Casa de Campo Open a Caddy/Scramble Tournament will be played on the Dye Fore.
