Casa de Campo Resort & Villas celebrated a major milestone this week with the hoisting of the 2025–2026 Blue Flag at Minitas Beach. The international certification recognizes beaches that meet strict standards of environmental quality, safety, cleanliness and accessibility.

This year is especially meaningful: Minitas Beach now celebrates 10 consecutive years as a Blue Flag beach, placing it among the Dominican Republic’s most distinguished shorelines.

A Ceremony Highlighting Teamwork and Progress

Resort executives, team members and local authorities gathered at Minitas Beach for the ceremony. Director of Operations Charles Keusters shared how the certification has shaped improvements over the past decade, helping elevate the experience for homeowners, guests and visitors.

“For us, maintaining the Blue Flag standard at Minitas Beach is an ongoing commitment,” Keusters said. “This achievement reflects the dedicated work of our teams and the determination of Casa de Campo’s leadership to provide a safe, clean, accessible and sustainable environment for all our guests and homeowners.”

Norma Enríquez, Director of Integrated Quality, spoke about the effort behind earning and renewing the certification each year.

“Blue Flag is not just a distinction. It is a responsibility we proudly uphold,” Enríquez said. “Every process, every monitoring effort and every improvement reflects our dedication to ensuring that Minitas Beach meets the highest international standards of environmental quality.”

Nicole Sánchez, Manager of Minitas Beach, thanked her team for maintaining Blue Flag standards for a full decade. Resident Manager José Miguel Abreu highlighted how the certification enriches the guest experience, while Andrés Fernández, President of the La Romana Destination Hotel Association, congratulated the resort for becoming a model of sustainable tourism in the region.

A Flag With Meaning

The ceremony concluded with the hoisting of the Blue Flag — a symbol that Minitas Beach continues to meet international requirements in water quality, safety, services and environmental education.

With ten years of certification, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas reinforces its role as a leader in environmental stewardship and its commitment to preserving the natural beauty that defines the community.
