On Thursday the 17th of February, the team bringing us the great Casa de Campo Regatta 2011 held a press conference in Santo Domingo about the upcoming event – happening in less than a month from the 11th to the 13th of March! (Información en Español debajo.)

During the event, which was held at the Christoph Restaurant and Champagne Bar and organised by WT events, the architect Gianfranco Fini, the Casa de Campo Yacht Club’s commodore spoke in detail about the event, which will include 3 days of races, a welcome cocktail and 2 dinner/awards ceremonies! Gianfranco was joined at the main table by Franco Pistone, CCYC’s Sport Director, Jose H. Vicioso, president of ADVELCO, Andres Santana, FDV Advisor and Alma Taveras, PR for WT Events.

The races will take place in the waters outside of the Casa de Campo Marina and in full view of many of Casa de Campo’s ocean-side villas and on one day the racers will circumnavigate Isla Catalina (Catalina Island).

Here is a brief schedule of events for the Casa de Campo Regatta 2011:

Friday 11th March
1pm: Boats set out from the Marina
2pm: Racing begins
7pm: Inauguration cocktail at the Casa de Campo Yacht Club

Saturday 12th March
11am: Boats set out from the Marina
12pm: Racing begins
5:30pm: Post-race cocktail and picadera at pier J
7:30pm: Dinner and awards ceremony at Casa de Campo Yacht Club

Sunday 11th March
11am: Boats set out from the Marina
12pm: Racing around Isla catalina begins
4:30pm: Post-race cocktail and picadera at pier J
5pm: Awards ceremony at Casa de Campo Yacht Club
