Take your running shoes out and start getting ready for the first ever “Casa de Campo Corre” marathon – The Hogar del Niño’s first fun run event on Saturday, 6th of December!”
Registrations are open and ready for all of those runners out there that would like to demonstrate their stamina whilst support a great cause.
As we told you before, the Casa de Campo Corre has different distances, so you can definitely demonstrate what you are capable of! You can sign up for the 5km if you are just doing it for fun, or you can sign up for the 10km if you would like to exceed your own expectations, but if you really want to impress the spectators and all the other runners – sign up for the 21km!
We have not yet received the marathon route, but do not worry – we are sure the Hogar del Niño has a great route organized for all of you!
In the meantime, you can start deciding which distance you will sign-up for, and remember, by participating or by just assisting you are supporting the Hogar del Niño charity, the Dominican Republic’s most complete education and daycare center which is responsible for taking care of 1500 children on a daily basis!

The Hogar del Niño
The Hogar del Niño is a children’s daycare and educational center for over 1500 children, located in La Romana town, just outside of Casa de Campo. Children from as young as just a few weeks old up to 18 years old are cared for and educated daily, from as early as 5:30am and staying as late as 7pm.
The organization also provides special schooling to over 75 hearing impaired and blind children, as well as a vocational school where over 235 students receive classes in different areas like: sewing; industrial preparation, installation and electrical maintenance; plumbing and management of computer office programs.
