Casa de Campo Resort & Villas announced the fifth edition of the Casa de Campo Corre Marathon for Hogar del Niño, an event that in addition to the Marathon (42K) includes the Half Marathon (21K) and distance races of 10K and 5K whose routes are certified by the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF). The event, which will be held on Sunday, November 25 with departures starting at 5:30 a.m., is another example of the innovations Casa de Campo continues to offer as a destination for the entire community and as part of its new training, health and sports project.
The details of the marathon were offered during a press conference held on Tuesday, October 16, on the terrace of the 4th floor of the mall Ágora Mall attended by Xiomara Menéndez Dájer, President of the Patronato Benéfico Oriental, Sarah Pelegrín Acenjo, Public Relations Manager of Casa de Campo Resort, Karla Martin, Director of digital media of Santo Domingo Corre and Marathon technical coordinator, Renata Soñé and Gabriella Reginato as part of the image of the event, triathlete Natasha Méndez, special guests, related personalities, among others.
Prior to the reproduction of an audiovisual that includes the details of the marathon, Xiomarita Menéndez Dájer explained that the funds raised will be allocated to the Physical Education programs developed for Hogar del Niño as an institution for the educational and nutritional well-being of thousands of children of the vulnerable communities of La Romana. “It is a real honor for us to be able to carry out this activity for the fifth year in a row, which is proof that the results we have obtained in past editions have been positive and encouraging. We are pleased to have the support of all those who are always willing to contribute, in addition to their steps, supporting this proposal that benefits those in need, “said Xiomara Menéndez Dájer.
This event has already become very popular in the country, managing to reach also runners abroad, who have come from Puerto Rico, the United States, Europe, Colombia and Venezuela among others, and who have had the opportunity to run a marathon enjoying the most luxurious and exclusive tourist resort in the Caribbean. Sarah Pelegrín Acenjo, Public Relations Manager of Casa de Campo, said “At Casa de Campo Resort we are more than pleased to support what has become a traditional marathon: the Casa de Campo Corre for Hogar del Niño”.
This event is part of the wellness and sports project that has been developed in the resort in recent years. Each registered runner will receive a kit of a backpack of the event, an official dri fit of the Marathon, BIB cap and CHIP: To collect the Kit and for more information you can visit the page www.cdccorre.org. Competitors will receive medals for reaching the Goal as well as prizes in kind, certificates and important cash prizes. The races will start with the 42K and 21K starting at 5:30 in the morning, while the 10K and 5K will start at 7:00 am, before the various starts there will be warm-up sessions for the riders.

THE HOGAR DEL NIÑO
The Hogar del Niño is a children’s daycare and educational center for over 1500 children, located in La Romana town, just outside of Casa de Campo. Children from as young as just a few weeks old up to 18 years old are cared for and educated daily, from as early as 5:30am and staying as late as 7pm.
The organization also provides special schooling to over 75 hearing impaired and blind children, as well as a vocational school where over 235 students receive classes in different areas like: sewing; industrial preparation, installation and electrical maintenance; plumbing and management of computer office programs.
