Last Tuesday the 29th of December the annual Cartier Benefit Event in aid of the Fundacion MIR and the Hogar del Niño was held at Casa Grande in Casa de Campo.

The event is open to everyone and was very well attended by Casa de Campo villa owners and residents who were more than happy to pay the $50 entrance fee in order to gain entrance into the impressive Casa Grande, enjoy the Dom Pérignon and take part in the raffle, the silent auction and the live auction – all in aid of the MIR Charities.

The live auction, for which Pepe Fanjul was the auctioneer included some very interesting items, many of which had been donated by generous members of the Casa de Campo community. Items included a Cartier watch, dinner for 4 at the Le Cirque’s Chef’s table in New York, a 7-night stay at the Orient-Express Hotels in Italy and a 7-day Mediterranean cruise among many others.

Following cocktails, the auctions and the raffle, guests were invited to enjoy dinner (in exchange for a $300 donation). Dinner was catered by the Beach Club by Le Cirque and was a delicious buffet-style feast with pasta, meats, vegetables and many other classic Le Cirque dishes.

The event was a huge success, which by my estimates must have raised at least several hundred thousand dollars for the Fundacion MIR and the Hogar del Niño.
