And what a view! As the elegant host of this month’s Café de la Leche gathering, Ana Maria Paniagua invited the Casa de Campo society into her magnificent Casa de Campo villa – with the most magical view of the Chavón river, the Marina Casa de Campo and the Caribbean sea.
With both white and red wine sangria or tropical passionfruit juice to sip on, the Café de la Leche hosted this past Friday the 8th of February by Ana Maria Paniagua was simply lovely. Casa de Campo’s gorgeous ladies glowed in the magical light of the sunset – creating a wonderful opportunity to get great photos (don’t you agree?)
With so many lovely spots to relax and enjoy the ambience on this beautiful Friday evening, little groups of ladies gathered across the terrace (with the best view), but also in the gazebo and the veranda surrounding the house – each area complimented with the most beautiful plants and flowers – so beautiful it reminded me of the “The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
Annie, who in the past has always hosted the first Café de la Leche of the New Year (click here for photos of last year) one again outdid herself with a wonderful buffet of delicious snacks and figure foods – much to the delight of the mixed community of Dominican, American, Italian, Spanish and Venezuelan guests (as well as 1 Brit – me, and 1 Lithuanian!)
What a view!
The Café de la Leche monthly charitable event is hosted for the Hogar del Niño charity who have a children’s education and daycare center in La Romana – and who this weekend are celebrating their 16th annual fundraising weekend! With golf, tennis, Zumba, biking and much more – including the Homes and Gardens Tour (your chance to see even more wonderful home’s like this one) a dinner on Minitas Beach – this is one event you simply must attend!

The Cafe de la Leche is a monthly charitable event, a little like a coffee or a tea party held for the ladies of Casa de Campo (although men are occasionally invited) and usually takes place on the first Friday of the month, hosted by a member of the Casa de Campo villa at her Casa de Campo villa or occasionally restaurant/business.
