Last Friday, March 9th, the ladies of Café de la Leche hosted another fantastic fundraising get together at the Salon Internacional at Casa de Campo Hotel. This gathering had a special theme, Toque de Rojo, asking everyone to wear something red commemorating International Women’s Day. Walking into the salon was like walking into a sea of red beauty. The salon was overflowing with women excited to gather not just for the children of Hogar del Niño, but also for women everywhere. By wearing red, we were standing together for women’s rights, and we stood strong in numbers! Everyone was mingling, introducing themselves to new-comers and reconnecting with old friends back in town for spring. There were delicious sweet and savory hor d’oeuvres to munch on as well as crisp sangria with fresh fruit, keeping the ladies cool on the warm evening. The salon was decorated with splashes of red, and all of the women of the salon were dressed in black uniforms with beautiful big red flowers behind their ears. Everyone enjoyed another social event, filled with women of all ages from the community! It was packed with people looking to celebrate the beauty and strength of women! Every month, dedicated men and women of our generous community gather to collect money and formula for the Hogar del Niño crib room. For 16 years, these social gatherings have been providing nutrition each and every month. Each gathering is different than the last, bringing members of the community together for a great cause. There is nothing like giving back and that is one of the things that the Casa de Campo community does best! A huge thank you to the ladies of the Salon Internacional for hosting us, and to the ladies of Café de la Leche for planning another beautiful and empowering event! We’ll see you next month! *pictures taken by Laura Perdomo at the Café de la Leche “Toque de Rojo” March 9th 2018:
