Last Friday the 7th of May, Ivonna Sosa joined forces with Susana Joa to host this month’s Cafe de La Leche event, which was, as we have come to expect spectacular.
The event was held in Ivonna Sosa’s elegant Casa de Campo villa, catered by Susana Joa, with drinks by Nespresso – a mix which combined perfectly to make a unique and very special event.
As I was unable to attend this month’s Cafe de La Leche (I was very disappointed) – I have had to rely on the accounts of the 80 ladies who attended, all of whom had a wonderful time!
The food was catered completely by Susana Joa who, as well as owning Chinois Chinese restaurant in the Marina, also runs a successful Chinese and Thai food catering business. Susana and her catering team, brought everything to the villa to prepare all the food fresh – a deep fat fryer to fry the egg rolls and a special steamer to prepare the dumplings, among other dishes.
All the drinks were provided by Nespresso, who set up a coffee bar – the Nespresso Atelier. Of course at every Cafe de La Leche it is essential to offer a nice range of drinks and so the Nespresso bar were offering a range of cold and hot drinks and even some cheeky alcoholic ones! On offer were Espresso Machiatto, Cafe Late, 3 Layers, Ice Vanilla Coffee, Ristretto Baileys Martini, Indriya on the Rocks with a splash of vodka and the star drink of the evening was Caramel Chocolate Arpeggio Martini, which was extremely popular with all the ladies! I can’t believe I missed this ;(
Ivonna informs me that she is very pleased with the success of the event and she would like to thank everyone who came, had a good time and brought lots of milk and cereals! (According to Ivonna, this was one Cafe de La Leche that really lasted – by 9pm at least 25 ladies were still enjoying drinks on the terrace and the last stragglers didn’t leave until midnight!)
The Cafe de la Leche, is a monthly event which brings together Casa de Campo’s ladies to enjoy a light snack, a few drinks and pleasant conversation with the added bonus of contributing to the Hogar del Niñocharity. Each lady brings a donation of dried milk, cereal or baby formula, which is then passed on to the Hogar del Niño’s crib room where it is provides 40% of the milk needed each month.
