cafe de la leche march Last Friday the 5th of March, Mapi Avanzini opened her house and welcomed the ladies of Casa de Campo to join her for this month’s Cafe de La Leche. It was a lovely afternoon, Mapi’s house is beautiful and Mapi herself was very friendly and welcoming – she actually thanked me personally for my milk donation as I arrived, which made me feel very welcome indeed! As I have come to expect at all Cafe de La Leche gatherings, the food was wonderful – especially the pastellitos and the shrimp, absolutely wonderful and dangerously moorish! Food, food, glorious food – a few photos of the food, not too many as I got distracted actually eating it! The Cafe de La Leche is a monthly charity event, held for the Hogar del Niño, children’s day care centre and school, where ladies from Casa de Campo and La Romana get together over a cup of tea, wine, occasionally champagne, and a few nibbles. Each lady brings a donation of dried milk, cereals or baby formula, which is then  used to feed the over 200 babies cared for in the Hogar del Niño everyday. Unfortunately, as I arrived a little late, I wasn’t able to take as many photos as I normally do – which meant I had more time to enjoy the yummy food and drinks! Nevertheless, here are my photos: [nggallery id=292]
