This month’s Cafe de la Leche is being held on Friday the 8th of October, from 5pm to 7pm at the Casa de Campo Villa of Inge Demyttenaere, Las Toronjas #7. (Artículo debajo en Español.)

This wonderful monthly event is a great opportunity to catch up with friends, meet new friends over a nice cold drink and a bite to eat whilst also giving to one of La Romana’s fantastic charities, the Hogar del Niño.

Here Inge explains why she offered to host a Cafe de La Leche:

“As most of us working ladies know, there always seems to be something important to do, but I have been going on a regular basis to the Cafe de la Leche meetings and have been contributing in a small way to the great program they have. This month I thought I would take the extra step and open my house as a host for the October meeting.

I like what Hogar del Nino is doing because it is so close to our homes and we can easily go over and visit and see what is really done with the help we provide. It is not some anonymous project, where you just send money and never know what is done with it. Besides, in my opinion, providing an education is the only way we can assure that the future generations of this country, that we all so dearly love, will progress and have a better future. I deeply admire the staff and people who are making a difference in these childrens lives, and contributing in a small way is the least I feel I can do.”

Each woman who attends the event is asked to donate milk, baby formula and cereals, which are then given to the crib room at the Hogar del Niño in La Romana, and is used to feed the over 200 babies they care for there. The milk donated at the Cafe de la Leche constitutes over 26% of the milk used in the crib room, so its really important that all us Casa de Campo ladies keep attending! As the babies all have different dietary needs, the Hogar del Niño you are requested to bring the following milk/cereals; Nan Sin Lactosa, Nan Soya, Milupa, cereales de arroz, trigo y frutas, Leche Nutra, Milex Completa, Baby Milex 1 y 2, Milex Kinder, Nestogeno 1 y 2, Nido Entero, Crecimiento.

La Cafe de la Leche es un evento mensual para beneficiar al Hogar del Niño. Este mes el evento es el viernes 8 de octubre con anfitriona Inge Demyttenaere en su villa Las Toronjas #7 y empieza a las 5PM. El evento normalmente incluye algunas bebidas, comida y la oportunidad a charlar con amigas y conocer nuevas amigas! Contribución: Leche, Formula y cereales -Nan Sin Lactosa, Nan Soya, Milupa, cereales de arroz, trigo y frutas, Leche Nutra, Milex Completa, Baby Milex 1 y 2, Milex Kinder, Nestogeno 1 y 2, Nido Entero, Crecimiento. Todos son donados a la sala cuña del Hogar del Niño a alimentar los mas de 200 bebes.
