Who said that things have slowed down in Casa de Campo? Ah yes that was me… Well OK I was wrong! Turns out we just had a bit of a lull for a few weeks and now events are flowing once more and we’re back to enjoying the exciting Casa de Campo social life we all know and love!
Last Friday May 8th, before we trotted over to the Casa de Campo Hotel for an encounter with Ken Lindsey (global brand ambassador for the Chivas Brothers) at the launch of the Chivas 18 by Pinifarina (click here for photos and more), we ladies first congregated at La Casita in the Marina Casa de Campo for a glass of sangria by the sea!
Perched on the waters edge of the Paseo del Mar of the Marina Casa de Campo, the breeze was a welcome guest to this fun gathering also attended by Café de la Leche “regulars” such as Alice Caslini, myself (of course!), Xiomara and Xiomara Menendez (the mother and daughter team making dreams a reality through education at the Hogar del Niño) and our lovely hostess Julia Martinez, who owns and runs our favorite restaurant by the sea with the Casa de Campo resort.
In keeping with the nautical theme, on the menu was ceviche, Spanish omelet, as well as crispy (and delicious) Paella balls, and much more!
It was a great way to start a fun night which continued with Chivas and for many ended much later at Café Marietta in Altos de Chavón – a veritable Casa de Campo “pub crawl”!!!
Congratulations to Julia Martinez and her son Kevin DeHaas for planning a great event and helping the Hogar del Niño gather milk supplies for their crib room and all the hungry little mouths they feed!!
