Café de la Leche: a monthly gathering that supports a great organization and builds friendships!

Last Friday October the 5th, we celebrated a rather friendly Café de la Leche, this time hosted by Ivonna Sosa at her beautiful home, which was a marvellous success with a great number of guests in attendance! Welcomed with a delicious selection fresh juice, which was later accompanied by tasty picadera the guests had a fabulous time indulging a little, chatting a lot with the Café de la Leche regulars as well as with new friends that joined the traditional monthly gathering.

Just a few months ago, Ivonna Sosa opened Trueshore Investments, the company that is the authorized representative of CPS, Metro Pack and Fedex in Casa de Campo. For those who might not know, CPS is a courier that allows someone to send a parcel or consignment from one location to another. During the event we were able to learn a bit more about the very convenient services that CPS offers which includes delivery of your package to your villa or office in Casa and see their delivery car, which some guests even got a chance to try out!

The Cafe de la Leche is a monthly charitable event, a little like a coffee or a tea party held for the ladies of Casa de Campo (although men are also invited!) and usually takes place on the first Friday of the month, hosted by a member of the Casa de Campo villa at home or occasionally restaurant/business.  The aim of the Café de la Leche gatherings are to boost the milk supplies of the Hogar del Niño, which uses it to feed more than 200 babies cared for daily in it’s crib room.

As Ivonna Sosa said during the gathering, “Not only does this event help the Hogar del Niño but it is a great opportunity to get together with people we’ve known for years, keeping us united as a great family but we also get to meet new friends! Let’s make the effort to bring for the first time that neighbor or friend who has never been to one, you never know if you’ll find your new BFF or you get to know someone who gives guitar lessons for your son!”

Everyone is welcome to attend these great events and it’s totally free – you are just requested to bring some dried/powdered milk or baby formula to contribute. Remember, this event is a great way to have a good time – even if you don’t know anyone, everyone is very friendly and welcoming!
