Summer’s a big deal to kids no matter what age you are. Out of school activities and fun in the sun are all a part of summer living. The Hogar del Niño knew just the thing to provide kids with a fabulous camp and if pictures are worth a 1,000 words these say it all!!
Around 60 children joined the school everyday throughout the month of July for sports, games, arts and crafts, music lessons, gardening, and more. Good times and a lot of laughs were had as students played limbo and danced in the school’s sports pavilion, sang karaoke and played on the keyboard, and even took turns putting on makeup— it’s never too young, right?! 20 volunteers from the Abraham Lincoln School helped make the Hogar del Niño Summer Camp a possibility, along with six teens from Austria. Camp staffers carefully looked after the youngsters to ensure everyone had a superb time.
On the last day of camp, the fire station provided campers with an extraordinary waterpark-style celebration! Soaked from head to toe, the children of the Hogar del Niño could not have been happier! Already the Hogar del Niño says they look forward to next year’s camp. Plus, the school just celebrated their graduation— stay tuned for an amazing story! The Hogar del Niño is bringing a ton of joy to the children of La Romana.
