Tomorrow, Friday May 16th, the Altos de Chavón School of Design will open the celebrations for it’s 30th anniversary graduation with the 30th annual ESTILO fashion show.  Estilo 2014 is the fashion show presented by the graduating class of fashion design students at the Altos de Chavón School of Design, and is always an incredible display of the students talent and potential as fashion designers of the future. Taking place in the Salón Flamboyán at the Casa de Campo conference center, it’s a special night, that will mark the first time Chavón’s Fashion Design students present their work to the public. The show marks the start of careers that will take these beginning fashion designers far. For the last seven months they have dedicated themselves to their designs, from idea to finished garment. Long nights studying fashion history, striving to develop concepts, and devising patterns, and draping the garments has been their trial by fire. Now, tempered by their studies, they emerge as designers who can command respect on the runway. If you’ve attended any of The Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design’s past shows, you know that they’re entertaining and full of wonderful creative energy. This year’s event will be held at 8pm this Friday the 16th of May and will be followed by a reception where you’ll have a chance to meet the student designers. This year to celebrate the 30th edition of the show, we can no doubt expect something extra special! Everyone from the Casa de Campo community; villa owners, residents and visitors are invited and encouraged to attend – its a great show and your contribution goes a long way toward covering tuition and lodging for some of The Altos de Chavón School of Design’s talented future designers, students of limited means, but unlimited ability! Excited about the show tomorrow evening, Friday May 16th, we went behind the scenes with some of the students and their teacher Julio Marcano, and were blown away by the quality of designs and craftsmanship. The following collection of photos were taken “behind the scenes” of the Estilo 2014 Fashion Show by the fashion design graduates of the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design. Seen in the pictures are Julio Marcano with students Michela Liagi, Maria Alejandra Guerrero and Julia Llenas.   We’ve no doubt that this sneak peak will entice you all to join us for the big show tomorrow night! See you there!
