The “ENDANZA” ballet performance in Altos de Chavón endanza ballet altos de chavon

ballet altos de chavonAlthough performed in front of a more modest audience and in a less grand location, the performance by the Dominican National Dance School “ENDANZA”, was arguably more beautiful and charming, than the Nutcracker Suite and the “Folklore a los Cuatro Vientos”, which took place in the Altos de Chavón amphitheater on Friday and Saturday nights. With the rustic Altos de Chavón church, majestically lit in glowing Christmas lights framing the performance, the visual impact was breathtaking and the young ballerinas (some as young as 7 years old) were graceful, beautiful and bursting with talent. Incorporating mostly classical ballet performances, the show was both lively and exciting as well as romantic and moving and ending with a spirited folkloric Dominican piece with all the dancers dressed in traditional Dominican carnaval costumes. altos de chavon plaza The Dominican National Dance School “ENDANZA” educates children from poor and difficult backgrounds in the world of dance from 7 years old to 17 years old, so that they may then continue their dancing career in with the Dominican National Ballet, who performed the Nutcracker Suite last Friday night and/or the National Folkloric Ballet, who performed the “Folklore a los Cuatro Vientos” last Saturday evening.
