Last Saturday the 14th of May, Casa de Campo Living’s 4th Bazaar, the ‘Bazaar Primavera’ was celebrated in Altos de Chavón in Casa de Campo and despite a little rain (booo), it was still a great success – thanks to all our wonderful sponsors, vendors and the Casa de Campo community who always come along and have a good time! (Articulo sobre el Bazaar Primavera en Español debajo.) In this article, I bring you the story of the bazaar, as well as 75 photos – which paint a pretty good picture of how awesome the bazaar was! Enjoy! The Bazaar was scheduled to begin at 11am and by 11am it was ready! (Forget Dominican time!) Set up in the shadiest area of Altos de Chavón by the gardens, the Bazaar Primavera filled the usually empty and neglected cobbled alley-way with 18 tents, 40 ‘sellers’, 4 juegos inflables, a Plaza Lama super market, a giant inflatable archway with a juicy brindis from Jugos Rica, a mini-casino with Black Jack and Poker created by the Casino Diamante Dominicus Bayahibe, a British automobile display with 2 Jaguar XF’s, 1 Jaguar XJ and a champagne lounge by Grupoviamar, as well as Scotiabank preparing for the opening of their new branch in the Marina Casa de Campo. Throughout the day, Casa de Campo villa owners enjoyed strolling through the Bazaar Primavera, indulging in a little shopping for gifts, jewelry, clothes, art and more, whilst the children amused themselves on the juegos inflables! Many stayed in Altos de Chavón for lunch (and later on for dinner), enjoying Oneburger’s famous ‘Spicy Veggie Cheeseburger’ (absolutely delicious), or having a few beers in Papa Jacks outdoor lounge/terrace. A relaxed and casual event, the Bazaar Primavera brought Altos de Chavón to life, giving the residents and villa owners of Casa de Campo the opportunity to really enjoy arguably one of Casa de Campo’s most beautiful areas! Again, THANK YOU to our sponsors; Jugos Rica, Jaguar, Plaza Lama, Casino Diamante Dominicus Bayahibe, ScotiaBank, Casa de Campo and Altos de Chavón! Without your support these events would not be possible! Here are my first selection of photos from the event – nearly 100 more will be published soon! SAVE THE DATE: The next Casa de Campo Living event the ‘Hoedown 2011’ is planned to take place on Saturday the 2nd of July!
