On Sunday the 10th of October the Dueños of Casa de Campo enjoyed a wonderfully sunny family day out at the Bazaar Dueños 2010 in Altos de Chavón. The main aspect of the bazaar was of course the bazaar with many business selling their produce but as well as shopping there were many kids activities, such as a special visit from Barney, a kid’s fashion show, a jewellery making class, a photo art workshop as well as face painting and kids games!
Here are my photos and a few words about everything that Casa de Campo’s kids got up to during the Bazaar Dueños 2010:
A special visit from Barney!
As part of the kid’s entertainment program, Barney the famous purple dinosaur made a visit to the Dueños Bazaar, to meet, greet and play with the excited children! Everyone (adults included) were thrilled to meet Barney who took a stroll around the bazaar area before deciding to stop at Jugos Rico for some juice!
The kids fashion show!
The kids fashion show workshop was organised by Pequeño Modelo Camp, who first prepped the girls for their catwalk debut with makeup, fashion and accessories as well as a short class on walking tall and looking like a model! The finale of the girls workshop was their fashion show and it was stunning! The 10 beautiful girls proudly and with great confidence strutted their stuff to the cheers from the crowd of more than 100 spectators – congratulations to the Dominican Republic’s next top models!!

Orfanato Niños de Cristo – jewellery making class
At the beginning on the Bazaar Dueños a group of 12 very excited girls from the Orfanato Niños de Cristo took part in a complimentary jewellery class with Iliana Prado Customised Jewellery. The 12 girls spent an hour with Iliana learning about jewellery making and each made their own very unique bracelet or necklace. Throughout the day Iliana also held a number of other jewellery making classes for Casa de Campo’s little girls.

Photo Art with perlas plásticas!
Another great kids activity was ‘Photo Art’ ran by Periodikito – the kids created an art self portrait using a photo of themselves and recreating it using ‘perlas plasticas’ (small plastic coloured circles) – the kids loved it and the parents loved it more because it kept the kids busy!!
As well as all these activities, the kids also enjoyed games and colouring in, organised by the Hogar del Niño and playing with balloons, games, face painting and even a visit from Camilo, Casa de Campo’s lizard-mascot, organised by Kidz n’ Casa.
