Last night, Thursday February the 6th, 2014, some of Latin Americas greatest baseball stars arrived into Casa de Campo and were welcomed to the resort with a cocktail celebration and dinner at the Marina Casa de Campo.  These great INMORTALES of Latin baseball are here in Casa de Campo to celebrate the 5th induction ceremony of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame, the Salón de la Fama del Béisbol Latino, the brainchild of Casa de Campo villa owner Roberto Weill. This induction ceremony will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday February 8th from 8pm at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater, while today’s celebrations include the INMORTALES golf tournament on the Teeth of the Dog and a dinner hosted by honarary chairman of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame, Alfy Fanjul. Last night, this great celebration got started at the headquarters of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame on the Paseo del Mar in the Marina Casa de Campo. Welcomed by Roberto Weill, president and founder of the organization, the class of 2014 inductees, joined by the class of 2013 legends, as well as other members of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame committee, friends and fans, enjoyed a beautiful sunset cocktail. Among the special guests was Roberto Alomar, the world’s best second baseman and a member of Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame in the United States. Also present was 94 year old Luis Rodriguez Olmo, the second Puerto Rican to make it to the Major Leagues, and one of the class of 2014 inductees. The event also served as the launch for the 3rd edition of INMORTALES, the official magazine of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame, another innovative media project by SILGON, (creators of CasaLife, casadecampoliving.com, TODO Casa de Campo and TODO La Romana – Bayahibe). Following the cocktail the special guests enjoyed dinner Mexican themed dinner at La Casita, also in the Marina Casa de Campo. About the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame This year the 3 day celebration will include The Latino Baseball Hall of Fame (el salón de la fama del beísbol latino), founded by Roberto Weill with Alfy Fanjul and Rafael Avila in 2009, aims to celebrate the achievements of  hispanic and Caribbean Major League Baseball players – who are largely absent from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in New York. This year 14 players will be exalted to the Latino Baseball Hall of fame in the 5th annual ”Grand Exaltation Ceremony”; Moises Alou (Dominican Republic), Luis Ernesto Salazar (Venezuela), Bert Campaneris (Cuba), Cesar Leonardo Tovar (Venezuela), Omar Moreno (Panamá), Aurelio Lopez (México), Vinny Castilla (Mexico), Silvio Garcia (Cuba), Osvaldo Virgil (Dominican Republic), Luis Garcia (Venezuela), Baldomero Almada (México), Luis Rodriguez Olmo (Puerto Rico), Gil Garrido(Panamá), Juan Ramon Pizarro (Puerto Rico) The 5th annual “Grand Exaltation Ceremony” will be held on Saturday evening the 8th of February at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater.
