On Tuesday the 13th of November 2012, the Fundación MIR was happy to receive a visit from 3 representatives of Baptist Health South Florida, who as sponsors of this years Magical Splendor for Life Gala – slated for Saturday the 19th of January 2013, were keen to get to know the Fundación MIR schools and their more than 1500 enrolled students.
The 3 special guests, led by Carlos Ariza visited the various areas of the schools and pupils – from the tiny ones in the Primaria MIR to the older students studying cooking and gastronomy, as well as the pupils studying nursing. The Fundación MIR, with 3 schools in La Romana town believes education is the key to ensuring a successful future of the Dominican Republic and it’s people.

This year, the Magical Splendor for Life fundraising event by the Fundación MIR, one of Casa de Campo’s most elegant social and fundraising occasions will be more glamorous than ever before- with the main event being hosted for the first time by Alfy and Raysa Fanjul at their Casa de Campo estate, Casa Grande – with, for the 3rd consecutive year, a fashion show by special guest designers; Badgley Mischka. The Fundación MIR is a non-profit organization which works to provide education to the children of the greater La Romana area, who are most in need. They run 3 schools; the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Tecnica Vocacional Fundación MIR (girls vocational school) and the Primaria MIR (infants school).
