art chavonNext week, on the 6th, 7th and 8th of March 2013, the Altos de Chavón Cultural Center Foundation invites you to take part in “Art Chavón 2013”, a great celebration of Dominican art and design – and your opportunity to invest in the future of Dominican art and design.

bustThis 3-day activity, which revolves around the incredible talents of the students of the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design, will raise funds for the school’s Scholarship program. As a component of The Altos de Chavón Cultural Center Foundation, a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity, the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design has been graduating students from its two-year associate-degree program, affiliated with New York City’s prestigious Parsons “The New School For Design” since 1983.

Since 2010, fundraising events or “friendraisers” for the school have been held and organized by enthusiastic members of the Casa de Campo community; Bryn and Arnold Cohen, Patti Rambasek and Rik Laird, Renata and Peter Winterstein. The first gathering in 2010 was hosted by Renata and Peter at their Casa de Campo villa and last year the celebration was hosted by Dominique Bluhdorn at her beautiful oceanside villa in the Punta Aguila neighborhood of Casa de Campo – both resounding successes.

“We are pleased to support ART Chavon because it will help assure that no talented Dominican applicant will be denied admission to the Altos de Chavon School of Design for lack of funds.  Attending ART CHAVÓN and purchasing art is an investment in the future of Dominican art and design.”

— Patti Rambasek, Casa de Campo villa owner and art enthusiast

With Art Chavón 2013, these fundraising efforts continue, but with the aim to also showcase all the great work the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design does. A donation of US$125 is requested per person to attend all 3 Art Chavón events.
