“Around the Bases”, an art exhibition and cocktail party displaying the works of Daniel Infante and Wilfredo Torres, is coming to Casa – and we’ve got the scoop.
Set the date, ladies and gents – beginning Friday the 27th of June, and stretching all the way until the twelfth of August, the Altos de Chavón Gallery will be hosting “Around the Bases” a collection of the intriguing and fabulous works of Cuban artist Wilfredo Torres (whose art is pictured above) and Dominican artist Daniel Infante. Featuring paintings and sculptures with unconventional color schemes and ideas that will just have you raving! The exhibition will formally open with a cocktail party on the 27th of June, and, if you’re reading this, consider yourself invited to come along!
A painter and illustrator, Daniel Infante (whose work “Al Café” is shown to the right) is a Fine Arts and Illustration graduate from the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design who finished his studies studying Painting and Contemporary Art in the Pan-American School of Modern Art in São Paulo, Brazil. He has presented his works as part of various expositions in Brazil, Central America, and the Dominican Republic.
Professor and Dean of Arts at UNAPEC University, as well as a teacher of visual arts at the International School of Santo Domingo, Wilfredo Torres is a seasoned artist and professor, focused in the fields of ceramics, drawing, and graphic design. From 1971 to 1991 he was the art director of popular Cuban humor magazine, “Dedete”. He has obtained several accolades for his work in the arts, and has had his work shown in exhibitions, both of his own work and with other artists. His work has been featured in museums and treasured in private collections across America and Europe.
