On Thursday April 2nd, when Andrea Bocelli touched down at the La Romana Airport, Casa de Campo, in his beautiful Hawker 900XP private jet, we were not only surprised to see him out and about and enjoying all the Casa de Campo resort has to offer, but we were all extra surprised to discover he is an accomplished horseman.
On the day of his arrival he first of all met with Rafael Torres, President of Casa de Campo, and Daniel Hernandez, general manager of the Casa de Campo Hotel on the tarmac of the La Romana Airport, Casa de Campo, and then ventured out to the Marina Casa de Campo for the Sunset Jazz Night at the Azimut Café.
But he didn’t stop there, rather than laze by the pool of his private Casa de Campo villa, Andrea Bocelli chose to visit the Casa de Campo Equestrian Center where he rode a number of Central Romana’s polo ponies… And he even had energy for a visit to Minitas Beach and the Beach Club by Le Cirque.
On his final day, after treating us to an incredible 3 hour show at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater, Andrea Bocelli was up bright and early and back at the Casa de Campo Equestrian Center where he rode an award-winning Paso Fino horse, “Aprendiz de Colores” who is the champion of the Feria Ganaderia 2015, and was in Casa de Campo for the finals of the Casa de Campo Copa Semana Santa, a celebration which took place on Saturday April 4th.
The following video shows Andrea Bocelli riding “Aprendiz de Colores” at the Casa de Campo Equestrian Center.
He also took the time to stop by the private stables of Mimilo Jimenez to visit his incredible Andalusian horses, where he was also happy to interact with Casa de Campo villa owners and Calixto García-Vélez, Casa de Campo Director of Polo.
