Last Friday the 15th of February 2013, the 16th annual Hogar del Niño fundraising weekend got underway with a tour of the Hogar del Niño educational and daycare facility in La Romana, the Homes and Gardens tour and the final of the polo tournament. After a good and well battled final, The Pitirri Polo Team (Rafa Perez Diez 2, Carlos Cortes 4, Leo Matos 2, JJ Schiffino 0) won the 2013 Hogar del Niño Polo Cup.
The Final was followed by the Prize-Giving ceremony in which Xiomarita Matos showed all the guests a wonderful video about Hogar del Niño with interviews with many people that work at the school. Applauses were given in response of the spirit of Hogar del Niño captured in this short but emotional video. To continue the celebration, both polo teams took pictures holding the prizes -surrounded by their children.

It was a good Polo day to enjoy for Hogar del Niño and for all of us here in Casa de Campo.
Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th of February 2013, the Patronato Benefico Oriental (PBO) – the umbrella organisation for the Hogar del Niño hosted it’s 16th annual fundraising weekend – with great success and more people than ever joining the celebration.
