The Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design will later this month be taking part in the annual fashion celebration ‘Dominicana Moda’ in Santo Domingo, with their end of year fashion show “La Ruta de la Seda” (the silk road) and money raised with the ticket sales will benefit local La Romana based charity, the Hogar del Niño.
Road Trip? A minibus/guagua will be leaving from Casa de Campo at some point in the morning to get us all there!
Please contact the Hogar del Niño for more information.
Casa de Campo villa owners and residents first saw the “La Ruta de la Seda” (the silk road) fashion show by the graduating students of the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design on Friday the 27th of May at the Casa de Campo Flamboyant conference centre – and it was spectacular! The inspiration behind the collection was ‘The Silk Road’, an ancient trading route which lead from China to Europe connecting the East and the West and the result was a spectacular combination of patterns, stripes, bold colors and romantic silhouettes. Last year a group of Casa de Campo ladies (and a few men) took a very similar trip to the Dominican Republic Fashion Week and the Dominicana Moda in Santo Domingo – both excellent trips with a few drinks, lots of laughs and great fashion!
