This Saturday the 12th of May the graduating students of the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design are celebrating their graduation with an inauguration cocktail for their “End of Year” art exhibit – which is already on display at the Altos de Chavón Art Gallery.  On display at the “End of Year” art exhibit you will find not only an incredible display of art work (paintings and sculptures) but also fashion as well as design  – a fact which always surprises visitors, who often do not release that the school offers courses in Fine Arts/Illustration, but also Fashion Design and Graphic Design, all 2 year two-year programs leading to the degree of Associate in Applied Science. The inauguration cocktail for the exhibit is scheduled to begin at 7pm this Saturday May 12th, which everyone is invited to attend – so we look forward to seeing you there!

About the Altos de Chavón School of Art and DesignThe Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design is 33 years-old, which is a component of the Altos de Chavón Cultural Center Foundation, a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity, has been graduating students from its two-year associate-degree program, affiliated with New York City’s prestigious Parsons “The New School For Design” since 1983. Many of the young artists and designers at the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design come from families with very limited resources and the School’s mission is to provide art and design education to talented, qualified applicants despite any economic constraints they may have – which means that the school relies heavily on donations from generous individuals who allow the school to provide a comprehensive scholarship scheme.

To raise money for the school and the scholarship scheme a “Friend-raiser” was recently celebrated at the Casa de Campo villa of Dominique Bluhdhorn – click here for photos and the full story!!
