In collaboration with Altos de Chavón School of Design and the Altos de Chavón Cultural Foundation, the Davidoff Art Initiative will host the second annual Davidoff Art Weekend from February 13 through 16 at Altos de Chavón in Casa de Campo.
In 2012 the Oettinger Davidoff AG launched the Davidoff Art Initiative with an aim to support contemporary art and artists in the Caribbean, strengthen art organizations in the Dominican Republic, share knowledge and expertise about contemporary art, and foster cultural engagement between the Caribbean and the rest of the world. At the core of the Davidoff Art Initiative, Davidoff aims to engage with the cultural community of the Dominican Republic, where much of its production and so many of its employees are based.
Rounding out the global Davidoff Art Initiative into a fully two-way cultural exchange, Davidoff is launching its first International Art Residency for five artists from the around the world to visit the Dominican Republic starting in January 2015 for a three-month-long residency on the campus of the Altos de Chavón School of Design.
