Alejandro_Fernandez_1Tropical storm Erika was not going to stop 5,000 spectators from singing along to Alejandro Fernández’s tunes LIVE last Saturday at Altos de Chavón! During the spectacular concert produced by none other than Casa de Campo, and featuring an entire mariachi band that came on stage during the second half of the concert, “ El Potrillo” shared with his dominican fans what has been called one of most successful tours of his career, “Confidencias World Tour”. Alejandro_Fernandez_2After opening the concert with “Nuestro Amor”, Alejandro Fernandez spoke to the crowd by thanking “everyone for being here with me tonight. I am very happy to be on this Altos de Chavón stage for the first time, and I must confess that the Dominican Republic was the first country I visited (after Mexico) once I became a singer and I fell in love with your island, its culture and people. I thank you for being here tonight”. The crowd went wild as he sang some of his famous songs including ‘Que voy a hacer sin tu amor’, ‘Hoy tengo ganas de ti’, ‘Te Amaré’ and ‘Me dediqué a perderte’. The pinnacle of the evening was without a doubt when he stepped off the stage and an 11 man mariachi band stepped on stage to serenade the crowd. Shortly after, Alejandro himself joined them in full mariachi outfit to sing “Tu te vas tan sola” drawing huge applauses and roars from the audience. It seemed that the more the concert evolved, the more potent his voice got and the more the crowd enjoyed itself! Alejandro_Fernandez_3 The ladies in the audience were not the only ones to enjoy the Mexican singers performance (although all the sensual dancing during “Así con la misma pena” caused some serious commotion), but the men also joined in on the fun singing “Mátala”. After singing seven of his famous father’s songs (Vicente Fernandez) to close the night, Alejandro Fernandez said goodbye to the Altos de Chavón after a 3 hour long concert that proved to be one of a kind. And like clockwork, as he stepped off stage, the sky that had been illuminated by a beautiful full moon all night, gave way to a refreshing rain shower which could not have been scheduled to start any earlier. We just can’t wait to know what will be the next concert that Casa de Campo will be organizing for us! And from what we have been hearing… it SEEMS LIKE IT WILL BE PRETTY AWESOME!!! Stay tuned!
