The “Callejón de la Alegría” in Altos de Chavón is home to a special place for lovers of good food. Alegría Restaurant is one of the gastronomic offers that complement this Casa de Campo space dedicated to art and culture and, why not, also to haute cuisine.

Alegría Restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine with a Dominican soul. “An interesting mix inspired by the sensation of a place as unique as Chavón, but, at the same time, so much ours, the Dominicans”, said the restaurant’s executives.

This space, which opened its doors in February 2022, is owned by Xiomara Menéndez, Eduardo Jana and Lázaro Sierra.

Its menu tries to be organic and with frequent changes. But, among the dishes that cannot be taken off their list are the ceviche in coconut and ripe banana, burrata, suckling pig and coconut fondant. In cocktails the “Morisoñando Adulto” and the “Dominican Moscow Mule” of sugarcane juice.

This restaurant has a privileged location in Altos de Chavón, as it has a spectacular view of the river. “Just walking in and discovering how the view opens up, fills the soul to sit and enjoy at any time of the day. There is no doubt that it is worth admiring and enjoying,” said its executives.

An important fact about Alegria Restaurant is that it serves as a platform for young talents of La Romana. These, whose average age is under 25 years old, have the opportunity to produce dishes at the highest level in this gastronomic space.
