The seventh edition of the Ing. Alberto Gonzalez Open 2020 Golf Tournament, (The Great Christmas Pool For the Grandparents), culminated with great success, in the Dye Fore course of Casa de Campo, an event that raised * $ 1,623,360.00 * of pesos in benefit from the Padre Abreu La Romana Nursing Home and with a special dedication to the outstanding golfer, Cecilia Rosado De Nord.
For this year, the fair received about 116 players on Saturday, another record for the charity event, organized by Alberto González and Joaquin Montero.
In the fair, all the health protocols were met, in which each player’s temperature was taken for control upon entry, and everyone wearing their masks in the indicated areas.
The award ceremony was carried out through the Zoom application, which was directed by Franchesca Páez. The winners of the different categories were mentioned and their trophies and cash prizes accumulated for each category were presented in a virtual way, which will be delivered personally.
The winners will have as a souvenir of their competitive effort some beautiful and original trophies made of wood with the design of the event logo, in the shape of a house with two grandparents holding hands, courtesy of Chabra Muebles.
During the award ceremony, a plaque of recognition was given to the golfer Cecilia Rosado, to whom the tournament was dedicated, for her great support of this laudable cause for grandparents since its inception and for her outstanding sports career.
Alberto González as well as Joaquin Montero gave the words of gratitude “in a great way to all those involved so that this collection is a total success, which will be used in orders of first need in the Padre Abreu Nursing Home in La Romana.”
He congratulated Rafael Villalona and his family for supporting the event, as well as the majority of the pool winners, who donated their prize won to the Abuelit @ s, as well as many other players present, moved and with a great humanitarian heart. joined the cause making it possible to carry a record fundraiser, which will then be received by the director, Sr. Mirian Arias Bautista.
This year, due to the pandemic, it was not possible to have a commission from the Grandparents as has been a custom at the event.
González announced that by December 6, 2021, it will be the eighth version, and urged businessmen in the country to join this beautiful and laudable cause guided by God.
