Last Saturday June 9th 2012, the Altos de Chavon amphitheatre vibrated to the rythms of latin music as more than 4,000 Casa de Campo villa owners, residents, visitors and hotel guests enjoyed the filming of the spectacular Ana Gabriel Concert!

The Altos de Chavon amphitheatre was the extraordinary venue selected by Mexican singer Ana Gabriel to film her Live CD-DVD, an occasion which was the perfect excuse for many families, friends and Dominican fans to enjoy, not only a wonderful journey into many pleasant memories of her numerous long time hits, but also a terrific opportunity to be featured in this wonderful project which, according to Latin Sony Music, producers of the event and project will be released in September 2012 – so if you attended, you might even see yourself in the video!

As fabulous “extras” in this filming, the public enjoyed the show from the beginning to the end since, during the first hour, Sony Music started “warming-up” the crowd filming them with numerous rounds of applauses (first sitting down and later standing up), as well as shouting out for Ana Gabriel’s name, having her fans showing their different posters and flags and even singing pieces of her song “El Cigarrillo” (her most popular song!).

It was at 8:30pm when famous Mexican singer of “Quién como tú”, “Evidencias” and “Ay amor”, finally came out on stage, to begin this her second performance in the Dominican Republic – the first one was celebrated 18 years ago in Santo Domingo, something she mentioned  in the show!

“Mexico knew I wasn’t going to be Mexican, Mexico knew I would belong to you… my voice is yours, of all Latin America!”

                                                          — Ana Gabriel

The night flew by in a mixture of music, hard work from the Sony Music collaborates, jokes and much love shared between the artist and her fans, with the highlight of the event being the moment in which Ana Gabriel asked the crowd to let her have all their flags from different parts of the world – from Brazil, Colombia, United States, even a gay pride flag and of course the Dominican flag!

After singing for three hours non-stop, Ana Gabriel ended the first part of this concert with many fireworks thatoe tarted a 60 minute interval while the producers, musicians, the crew and herself took a well deserved break. However, the audience was treated to even more wonderful Dominican rythms with the participation of famous Dominican singer Eddy Herrera, who during this time sang famous hits such as “Lo perdí todo”, “Pégame tu vicio”, “Ajena” and ”Demasiado niña”.

The second phase of the concert and filming included 23 musicians along with a group of mariachi singers with whom Ana Gabriel performed 15 “mariachi” songs that she made famous a long time ago, closing this beautiful concert at 1:00am with the most requested song “El Cigarrillo”, after which many fans had great photo opportunities while she was signing loads of autographs onstage!!

“I chose this country to film my new CD-DVD, so that the world knows the beautiful soul of all Dominicans”

— Ana Gabriel

We look forward to seeing this new CD-DVD soon!!
