This past weekend the Casa de Campo resort was a bit more active than usual, thanks to the Fundación MIR Family Day, which brought together villa owners, residents, and visitors, who enjoyed a circuit of activities that started at La Romana Country Club with the tennis clinic followed by the traditional golf tournament and finishing up with an elegant dance awards ceremony at Minitas Beach Club.  Despite some untimely rain, the dinner and awards ceremony took place at a new location this year. The Minitas Beach Club was beautifully set up providing an enchanting and magical place where guests were welcomed by the MIR students. This event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to see who is being benefitted by their contributions. Something we also suggest to do is arranging a visit to the schools if you haven’t done so, this way you can see first-hand everything that the children do and learn in the various facilities. The night was hosted by the popular and charismatic Gabriella Reginato, and Sergio Pierret was in charge of the music. As is tradition, a group of girls from Fundación MIR presented a beautiful choreography to the acoustic version of “Volare” and then they sang the new Fundación MIR anthem written by the graduate and music teacher Felix Cruz Santana. Mrs. Lian Fanjul de Azqueta took the stage to thank everyone for their support in helping the Fundación MIR provide the youth of La Romana with education and the opportunity for a better life.  “Each of you is a bit of Fundación MIR, everything we have achieved has been because you have believed in me and in our work. I invite you all to get to know our schools and thus see a little piece of the future La Romana.” Congratulations to the Fundación MIR for once again organizing a wonderful event, which we are sure was very successful in helping sustain the three Fundación MIR schools and their future projects!
