The Altos de Chavón Art Gallery became a colorful hub of creativity on the evening of May 23, 2025, as the Abraham Lincoln School (ALS) unveiled its annual art exhibition. The event, which began at 6:30 p.m., brought together students, parents and members of the local community to celebrate the artistic achievements of the school’s students.

A Vibrant Showcase of Student Talent

The gallery overflowed with energy and emotion, as families admired the works created by students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. The exhibition featured an impressive collection of drawings, paintings, sculptures, installations and papier-mâché projects. From traditional portraits and still lifes to modern interpretations and dynamic 3D pieces, the artwork showcased a wide variety of styles, techniques and themes.

Visitors moved through the two levels of the gallery, where each piece told its own unique story. Some pieces captured the innocence of childhood, while others demonstrated advanced skill and a deep understanding of artistic expression. The exhibition became a celebration not only of creativity but also of the hard work and dedication of the Abraham Lincoln School’s art teachers, who guide their students in discovering and nurturing their artistic voices.

Emotional Moments and Family Celebrations

What made the event even more special was the sense of community. Families took pride in the accomplishments of their young artists, with proud parents beaming as they pointed out their children’s work to friends and relatives. A touching moment occurred when a mother proudly displayed her daughter’s artwork, while a young artist posed with his brightly colored drawing, both showing the emotional depth of the exhibition.

The event served as a reminder of the importance of the arts in education. Beyond the stunning works on display, the exhibition highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering creativity and self-expression in its students. It was clear from the smiles and conversations that the event meant much more than just showcasing art — it was about building confidence, encouraging creativity and strengthening the bond between students, families and the school community.
