Casa de Campo is no stranger to Megayachts. Since the opening of the Marina Casa de Campo in 2000, many floating palaces and their billionaire owners have visited our Dominican Paradise – most recently the ‘A’ (pictured above) was here.
Although not recent the above photo was taken by Omar Kuret, a Casa de Campo resident using his mobile phone. The photo was taken outside of the Marina Casa de Campo while Omar was aboard a friends boat – no doubt they had a cruise around this amazing yacht to get a good look!
Also spotted in Casa de Campo was Bill Gates Paul Allen’s ‘Octopus’ – but that was back in 2009, click here to read more. And more recently we also saw P Diddy’s ‘Bad Girl’ parked outside the Victory Club at the end of the Paseo del Mar.
The 394ft yacht, owned by Andrei Melnichenko was spotted in the waters outside of Casa de Campo in January of this year – the ‘A’ itself was too large to actually enter the Marina Casa de Campo and so was ‘parked’ outside in full view of many of Casa de Campo’s villas and was so large I spotted it when playing on the Dye Fore golf course and it made the Marina look small!
About ‘A’
The ‘A’ is owned by 38 year old Russian billionaire Andrei Melnichenko, was designed by Phillipe Starke, is 394feet and cost 200 million dollars to build! ‘A’ stands for Andrei and Aleksandra, Adrei’s Serbian born supermodel wife. The master suite is a circular room, completely surrounded by windows, with the bed (which rotates itself) on a revolving platform – for multiple viewing options!!
