The festive season got off to a bang with the lighting of the Christmas Tree – led by Dr. Claudio Silvestri, President and CEO of Casa de Campo with Maestro Dante Cucurullo representing the Ministry of Culture, who had sponsored the event, which, following an exciting countdown ended with the lighting of the tree accompanied by a magnificent wall of fireworks surrounding the Altos de Chavón main plaza.
What a show! To an audience of more than 300 Casa de Campo villa owners, residents and visitors, the beautiful, lively and festive music of the Juan Pablo Duarte Orchestra set the magical Christmas spirit alive in Altos de Chavón! Directed by the talented and very entertaining Maestro Dante Cucurullo, the Juan Pablo Duarte Orchestra accompanied by the choir of the National Conservatory of Music was phenomenal – especially when Santa Claus took to the stage and directed the show – ho ho ho, beard and all!
Santa in Altos de Chavón!
Santa Claus flew in from the North Pole especially for the occasion! Posing for photos below the Christmas tree and later taking to the stage as part of the performance by the Juan Pablo Duarte Symphonic Orchestra he was certainly the star of the show!
