A Magical Night of Solidarity

On March 8, the MIR Foundation celebrated an elegant, solidarity-filled evening at the Casa Grande residence of Mr. Alfonso Fanjul in La Romana. The event, known as the Magical Splendor Gala 2025, gathered over 400 guests for an evening that not only highlighted its sophisticated atmosphere but also reinforced its steadfast mission to transform lives through education.

One of the most emotional moments of the night was the recognition of acclaimed designer Naeem Khan, who marked a decade of unwavering support for the MIR Foundation. Thanks to his dedication and talent, Khan has been a key pillar in the success of the gala, contributing with his work to raise funds that support the noble goal of providing quality education to children and young people in the region.

The Golf Tournament: A Sports and Social Success

The day began with a golf tournament at the exclusive La Romana Country Club, where 105 golfers participated in an atmosphere of camaraderie and solidarity. This sporting event was the perfect prelude to what would become an unforgettable gala evening. The results of the tournament were as follows:

• First Place: Lin Rogers, Mila Rogers, Joe Greiner, and Brian Landers.
• Second Place: Juan Ramos, Miguel Barbero, Alejandro Santelises, and Alejandro Zeller.
• Third Place: Danilo López, Giancarlos Espaillat, Álvaro Talavera, and César Tirado.

Additionally, special recognitions were awarded for outstanding performances by participants:

• Longest Drive Ladies: MariCarmen De Zuckerman.
• Longest Drive Men: Julio Espinola.
• Closest to the Pin Ladies: Mariana Lorenzo.
• Closest to the Pin Men: Patti Croze.

The tournament was not just a sports competition but also an opportunity to bring together people committed to the educational cause and demonstrate how solidarity can unite communities in unexpected ways.

Naeem Khan’s Runway: A Glamorous Fashion Show

The event reached its peak with the dazzling runway show by designer Naeem Khan, who presented his Spring-Summer collection. The runway was one of the most anticipated attractions, capturing the attention of all attendees with his unmistakable style and exquisite creativity. Guests enjoyed a unique fashion exhibition that added a touch of glamour to an emotionally charged night.

Lían Fanjul, president of the MIR Foundation, expressed sincere gratitude to all those who believe in the transformative power of education. Throughout her speech, she highlighted the positive impact the Foundation has had on the lives of thousands of children and young people in La Romana, thanks to the support of sponsors, collaborators, and friends who have believed in this project.
