Last Saturday 7th of June 2012, the 1st La Romana Golf Association Tournament was celebrated on one of Casa de Campo’s excellent golf courses; the Links, in honor of Francisco Micheli, Andrés Vélez and Ramón Cruz, all 3 celebrating their birthdays this month – and what better way to celebrate than with an exciting and friendly round of golf amongst friends!

As that this wasn’t just a golf tournament, but in fact a really nice birthday celebration for Ramon Cruz, Andres Vélez and Francisco Micheli, many co-workers and loving friends of the birthday trio, who work for the Tabacalera de García and the Central Romana Corporation, as well as numerous beloved members of the La Romana and Casa de Campo community, took part in the tournament – no-one wanting to miss out on the opportunity to join the celebration!

Among the many golfers, we spotted many popular members of the community such as Marcial “Callito” Morla, Homero Saviñon, Kalil Haché, Doctor Mariano Carbucia, and many others who with that brilliant “spark” that characterizes all Dominicans, definitely added some fun to the game!!
The event directed by La Romana businessman Federico Felix and sponsored by Central Romana Corporation, Casa de Campo and Costasur, came to an end by 6pm, when the more than 40 players continued the celebration at the Club Caza y Pesca in La Romana, where in the midst of jokes, laughter, drinks, music and dancing, the three winning pairs received their trophies and Frank Micheli, Andrés Vélez and Ramón Cruz also received recognition awards. Congratulations and Happy Birthday to Ramon Cruz, Andres Velez and Francisco Micheli!“How does it feel? It feels GREAT!!! I believe it causes no harm once a year (giggles).
