wedding On Saturday the 4th of August 2012, Martina Avanzini and Gabriel Pinto were married in a romantic ceremony at the La Estancia Resort just outside of La Romana.

wedding la estanciaThe ceremony, which was enthusiastically blessed with several torrential rain showers took place at La Estancia’s “Palapa”, a gorgeous spot with a magnificent view of the La Estancia golf course and the surrounding Dominican countryside – which, despite the grey sky still looked very beautiful.

The gorgeous Martina, looked simply stunning as a blushing bride and was led down the aisle by her father, Tiberio Avanzini, who was so proud he was literally beaming. And so in a traditional and romantic ceremony presided over by Father Victor of the St. Stanislaus Church in Altos de Chavón, attended by hundreds of the couple’s closest friends and family, the handsome couple said “I do”, exchanged rings, shared a quick kiss (much to the delight of the onlookers), before making their way back down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Pinto!

Following the ceremony, the celebrations continued at the main clubhouse of the La Estancia Golf Resort which had been beautifully decorated by Casa de Campo’s most popular wedding planning trio – Amelia Pereya, Sarah Troncoso and Malele Strofer of “Tres Eventos”, who were also responsible for the smooth running of the event and the refreshingly simple and tropical decorations at the “Palapa”, where the ceremony took place.

Once the new Mr. and Mrs. Pinto made their grand entrance, posed for endless photos and everyone had enjoyed a few warm-up cocktails, dinner was served and the party got going – a blur of music, speeches, dancing and love, lots and lots of love!

“Our wedding day was amazing and perfect. Sharing our vows and commiting to each other for life in front of our dearest friends and family was the most special moment of all.

Spending the week with the most important people in our lives that came from more than 20 countries was amazing. These were the 200 most influential people that molded us into what we are today. Getting them all together again would be nearly impossible.”

Pre-Wedding Celebrations!

Although strictly speaking not a destination wedding as Martina and Gabriel live in Los Altos in Casa de Campo – many of their friends travelled from all over the world to be with them on their special day and so to keep them all entertained – the wedding celebrations really got underway long before the wedding itself!

The day before the wedding, the couple’s several hundred guests joined them on a catamaran trip to Catalina island – where (as you can see from the above image), they had a great time!

Other smaller celebrations also took place around the Casa de Campo resort, such as at Onno’s Bar in Altos de Chavón…..the following collection of photos (again from the Facebook of Martina and Gabriel) give you a glimpse of all the fun that was had!
