azimut cafeLast Friday June 15th, 2012, the popular Azimut Cafe celebrated a fun “Sunset Jazz Night”, when nearly 80 residents, villa owners and visitors of Casa de Campo enjoyed cocktails, picaderas, live jazz music and a spectacular sunset at the Marina Casa de Campo!  sailor jazz By 6pm, the Azimut Cafe was ready to receive the many guests of the “Sunset Jazz Night” event, a fabulous initiative where, each month, members of the Casa de Campo community will be able to enjoy a relaxed environment offered by this “cafe de la esquinita” (cafe at the corner) of the Marina Casa de Campo. On this ocassion guests were treated to the mesmerizing musical notes of “Electro Lounge Jazz” and “Jazz Café Del Mar” – jazz styles played by talented haitian saxophonist Jean-Eric Massena – who specializes in Saxo Soprano and Saxo Alto, among others. The highlight of the event was when the numerous guests not only enjoyed the exquisite “Sunset Combo” of cocktails and picaderas, the background jazz music, but also the sky was lit up with wonderful mixture of orange and pink tones as the sun finally disappeared for the night. Given the success of the event which came to an end at 11pm, from now on, the Azimut Cafe, which will soon celebrate its 1st anniversary is thinking of hosting similar events once every month – and for the summer (in July and August) will possibly even host gatherings twice a month! [As soon as we have more information, we will let you know!]

“I grew up by the ocean and my job, as well as my family’s has always been related to it. This is why I think that an event hosted near the sea is a must in Casa de Campo and other Marina’s in the Mediterranean and the United States. Its about having different and interesting musicians for the various live music events and occasions.” — Alice Caslini, IBI Nautica Group
