Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is set to host an unforgettable wine-tasting event this weekend, bringing a taste of volcanic terroirs to the heart of Altos de Chavón. The Fire in the Vine: Volcanic Terroirs experience, presented by American Express, will unfold on Friday, Aug. 8, and Saturday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. in the charming La Piazzetta, offering guests a chance to explore some of the world’s most unique wine regions.
What’s the Story Behind “Fire in the Vine”?
This exclusive wine tasting will transport attendees to volcanic landscapes around the globe. From the slopes of Sicily’s Mount Etna to Napa Valley’s Atlas Peak and the mineral-rich soil of the Canary Islands, each wine will showcase the unique character of terroirs shaped by the force of fire and earth.
Eduardo García, partner and commercial director of Sembra, the wine agency collaborating on the event, expressed excitement about the sensory journey: “Fire in the Vine is a chance to combine the art of wine with the magic of Altos de Chavón. Guests will experience volcanic terroirs without ever leaving the Piazzetta.”

To elevate this tasting, Casa de Campo’s culinary team, led by Rodrigo Menéndez, has carefully curated a gastronomic experience designed to pair perfectly with each wine. Menéndez shares, “Each wine selected for this edition has been carefully chosen for its distinctive volcanic and mineral character. From these unique qualities, we have conceived a culinary proposal designed to enhance its essence. The harmony between each glass and its pairing will offer our guests a memorable sensory experience.”
