Kerry’s parents, William and Rosie Everett, were among the first residents to come to the resort and open their jewelry shop in Altos de Chavón in 1979. The store remains a central part of the artist’s village and community’s history. Kerry calls Casa de Campo her happy place, and Mike who’s visited several times has fallen in love with the area and country as a whole. The two knew a wedding in Casa would be unlike any other.
Casa de Campo’s wedding coordinator, Rubi Mota helped organize the event, which included decoration by Tres Eventos. Many of the wedding party and guests had never been to the Dominican Republic before, and enjoyed a range of festivities like a welcome cruise on the Chavón River, dinner at the Marina, and a rehearsal dinner at The Beach Club. The Wedding party danced the night away at the La Romana Country Club surrounded by beautiful white and pink tropical plants and flowers. A catamaran ride to Catalina Island followed the morning after… Kerry and Mike wanted to make sure everyone got the full Casa de Campo experience!
Kerry recalls one of the most exciting moments of her wedding day was walking down the aisle at the St. Stanislaus Church; “I thought I would be much more nervous, but I was more excited than anything else. I remember sneaking into the back pew of a wedding at the church as a child and thinking how beautiful it was. It was an amazing feeling being the one walking down the aisle.”
