Having successfully celebrated the 25th anniversary of their organisation here in Casa de Campo in March last year, the British Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic is returning to Casa de Campo for the 16th edition of the British Golf Cup on Saturday May 10th.
Heading the tournament will be His Majesty’s Ambassador for the United Kingdom in the Dominican Republic, Steven Fisher, who will start the days festivities with the “saque de honor” (the inaugural putt), before the more than 100 golfers tee off around the Teeth of the Dog. Also taking part will be Casa de Campo villa owner, Campos de Moya, who is also the President of BRITCHAM the British Chamber of Commerce.
The tournament will be played in a scramble in pairs format with A,B and C categories for the men, as well as a ladies category. The winner of each category will get a trophy, while there will also be special prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin. The champions of the British Golf Cup will be awarded the “Claret Jug”, a replica of the cup given at the British Open golf tournament for more than 100 years.
The aim of the annual celebration is to strengthen and promote business relationships, while also enjoying a friendly game of golf.
Following what will no doubt be a fantastic morning on the greens of the Teeth of the Dog, golfers will then enjoy lunch and a prize-giving ceremony.
